Then add the end, if I want a more liquid chili, I'll add more to taste. I'm pleased to have your great-grandmother's name now and will add this to my copy of your recipe for "Best Chocolate Drop Cookies Ever." There are so many women who have disappeared into or remained nameless in the mists of time. Being a family historian, I always feel moved to try to find the unknown women's names so they are included in the family history. This always carries over to other things, even other people's recipes, as you now know! Thank you again for all you're doing and sharing your work with everyone.
All the best,
Karen

Karen Mohrhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16694858307699499265noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4249095902319557066.post-44857626147162871992024-01-25T08:55:53.266-06:002024-01-25T08:55:53.266-06:00Hi Karen, it was Great-Grandmother Fritz. But as we suggest in the Notes, you could omit those and use a tablespoon (or more, to taste) of curry powder if you prefer. My parents owned a restaurant for 20 years. A Cafe really and everything was homemade. They made their own slaw, Chili, sliced their own cheese, cut their own French Fries, fried chicken was made to order. It would have been perfect for Diners, Drive-ins(which is exactly what it was) and Dives. When my Mom would make chili at home she always made too much. It started as hamburger/hotdog chili. The next day or so she would add tomatoes and beans to make chili beans but she always had Fritos instead of crackers, Serrano peppers and sour cream. Thank you for bringing back wonderful memories!!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
