But all of the jarred salsa and picante sauces you find in the supermarket have been cooked. Salsa is usually chunky and picante usually has a finer texture (and sometimes is spicier). But whatever you call the two, they're both delish! Thank you for making me hungry. Recently I started adding yususco to my salsa, it's a Japanese kind of Tabasco made from yuzu rind and I love it because it gives it that extra boost of flavor that matches perfectly, but nobody can quite figure it out what it is.zenchefhttp://zencancook.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4249095902319557066.post-91651956053123143082012-04-27T09:46:08.160-05:002012-04-27T09:46:08.160-05:00Hi Nami, in terms of taste, with most commercial s...Hi Nami, in terms of taste, with most commercial sauces there's not a lot of difference - it's just that one is chunkier than the other. Great that you have good Mexican nearby - so many "authentic" places aren't. Sounds like you're going to be eating well! Oh my gosh how embarrassing! Now I know, the chunky one is salsa and saucy one is Picante, not the brand name! >_< I bet there is another name on top that's a brand but Picante is written so big I assume it's the brand name. Anyway, I can't wait for the weekend to come. We have this really great authentic Mexican place nearby.
